News Article
The results of the general election have kept David Cameron as our Prime Minister. The Conservatives took 331 seats in total whilst the Liberal Democrats took 8. Speaking after the results had been revealed David Cameron states 'above all I want to bring the country together...to reclaim a mantle we never should have lost.' It seems the Conservatives hoped for around 290 seats, and never expected over 300 and no one expected to win majority. This is also very significant to history as only once before with Margaret Thatcher has an existing government increased its majority.
